About Us

Our Hearing Aid Specialists

Choosing a hearing professional is an important decision for a hearing-impaired person. Since a hearing aid fitting has many components that are unique to the patient, proper hearing aid recommendation and adjustments are highly dependent on the judgment and skill of the professional selecting the instrument.

Meet Doug Dunker

Board Certified - Hearing Instrument Sciences

Doug Dunker started fitting hearing instruments in 1999 after obtaining a degree in Hearing Instrument Sciences at Bates College in Tacoma, Washington. This was during the time when digital hearing instruments were making a revolutionary impact in the industry. This focused training allowed Doug to enter the field of dispensing hearing aids with a solid understanding of digital processing techniques.

Doug has also earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Globe University, and an MBA from Minnesota School of Business. He is an active member of the Hearing Healthcare Providers of Arizona and the International Hearing Society, serving on various board positions and committees.

He is Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences (BC-HIS), a Tinnitus Care Provider, holding a certificate from the International Hearing Society, and holds a certificate from the American Conference of Audioprosthology (ACA) issued by the International Hearing Society. Doug holds licenses to dispense hearing aids in Arizona and Utah.

Having a hearing loss himself, Doug takes hearing aid performance to a personal level, therefore continuing education is important to Doug. As technology continues to evolve, the need to stay informed of the advances in the field is critical to the patient’s hearing success as well as his own. For this reason, Doug consistently achieves far more continuing education training than the minimum requirements to maintain his license. Doug has played an instrumental role in bringing continuing education classes to his peers in the hearing industry and has also given numerous educational seminars to the local community.
