Tympanometry

Tympanometry is a test performed to check the function of your middle ear, including your eardrum, middle ear cavity, and eustachian tube. It helps us determine whether or not a hearing aid may be the most appropriate solution to a hearing problem which may exist.

Hearing Aid Selection

We understand that it may seem to be a daunting task to determine the best hearing aid for your individual needs and maximum enjoyment. Through years of experience and personal trials of different hearing aids, we can help you narrow the options down to a point where you can feel comfortable with the product appropriate for your best hearing needs.

QuickSIN

QuickSIN is a speech-in-noise test we give our patients. Let’s face it, usually our most difficult hearing situations is in the presence of background noise. As the name implies, this test is quick, yet reveals a lot of information about how well a hearing aid candidate may expect to do in the presence of background noise. This helps with the appropriate selection of hearing aids and other attributes of the devices we may recommend to achieve maximize hearing performance in noise.

Audiometric Testing

Audiometric Testing is one of the most basic, yet revealing tests we use to determine your level of hearing. Hearing loss may come in different types, (conductive, sensorineural, central, or mixed) degrees, (ranging from mild to profound) and configurations (flat, sloping, cookie-bite, reverse, or precipitous). Using pure-tone air and bone testing will help us determine your hearing loss. Using speech testing further helps us determine the most appropriate treatment option for your given hearing loss.

Real Ear Measurement (REM) – Live Speech Mapping (LSM)

Real Ear Measurement (REM) – Live Speech Mapping (LSM) – is performed on every hearing aid we fit. This gold-standard of fitting a hearing aid is what make the performance of your hearing aids stand out from the others. Not only does it take into account the shape and size of your ear to ensure the best amplification possible, it allows for loud and soft sounds to be measured and programmed appropriately for the best listening experience in any environment.

Aural Rehabilitation

Aural Rehabilitation – is critical for patients who have gone many years without the hearing help they should have received. When we place amplification into someone’s ears, it may seem overwhelming for a bit while the new user gets used to hearing again. Don’t let this concern deter you though, since we have many tricks and adjustments built into the hearing aids themselves to help you overcome these changes in the most positive way possible.

Cerumen Management

Cerumen Management – is the process of cleaning the ear canal and helping you maintain proper ear hygiene. Using our Earigator ® equipment, we can safely and comfortably remove ear wax from the ear canal. Maybe after it is removed, there is no hearing loss at all!

Tinnitus Management

Tinnitus Management – Yes, we know that at this time there is no medication or surgery which can cure your tinnitus, but don’t believe anyone that tells you there is “nothing that can be done for it”. There are several ways to manage your tinnitus effectively and our hearing professional at Prescott Hearing Center can help you overcome the effects that tinnitus has had on your well-being.
